Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-01

Template — not legal advice. This is placeholder boilerplate to wire up the page. Have it reviewed and customized by counsel before launch.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Roast Reels (“Roast Reels,” “we,” “us”) governing your use of our websites, apps, and services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

Advertisers are also subject to our Advertiser Terms, which apply in addition to these Terms.

2. Eligibility & age

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 13. The Service is not directed to children under 13. A parent-gated experience for younger users is not currently available.

3. Accounts

You’re responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information and keep it current. You’re responsible for activity under your account. Some areas (creator studio, advertiser tools, admin) are role-based.

4. The Service

Roast Reels turns clips, photos, performances, and live input into AI-generated, broadcast-style comedy (“roasts”). Features may include single reels, broadcasts, selfie/music/gaming roasts, live sessions, scheduled events, and audience topic suggestions. We may add, change, or remove features, and some features are experimental.

5. Your content & the license you grant

You keep ownership of the content you upload or capture (“Your Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (e.g., transcode, trim, caption), process with AI, publicly display and perform, and distribute Your Content as needed to operate and promote the Service and to generate roasts from it. This license ends when you delete Your Content, except for content already shared publicly or retained in backups for a limited time.

You represent that you have all rights and permissions needed for Your Content, including the consent of every identifiable person in it, and that it doesn’t violate the law or anyone’s rights.

If you send us ideas or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use it without obligation to you.

6. AI-generated content

Roasts are generated by AI and are intended as comedy and entertainment. They may be inaccurate, unexpected, or absurd, and they are not statements of fact about any real person. As between you and us, and subject to the rights of any third parties, you may use the roast outputs generated from Your Content for personal and lawful sharing. We make no guarantee that outputs are unique or error-free.

7. Acceptable use & community standards

Keep it good-natured. You agree not to use the Service to:

  • harass, bully, threaten, or demean real people, or target anyone based on protected characteristics (race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, etc.);
  • upload illegal, hateful, sexual, or violent content, content sexualizing minors, or content that infringes others’ rights;
  • impersonate others, dox, or share private information without consent;
  • spam, scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or circumvent security or rate limits;
  • misuse live sessions or audience topics to push prohibited content to the AI.

8. Roasting other people & consent

Self-roasts are encouraged. If your content features other identifiable people, you must have their consent. Roasting public figures (including the Celebrity Edition) is satire/entertainment and is subject to heightened review, host pre-approval of audience topics, and the subject’s consent where we require it. We are not responsible for content you submit without proper rights or consent.

9. Moderation & enforcement

We may review, moderate, hide, remove, or refuse content, and we may suspend or terminate accounts, with or without notice, to enforce these Terms or protect users and the Service. Audience topics and uploads pass automated moderation, and creators/hosts and our team may remove or hide content.

10. Credits, payments & subscriptions

Some features use prepaid credits or subscriptions, purchased through our payment processor (Stripe). Live and certain modes may be metered (e.g., per-minute or per-use). Prices, credit values, and rates may change. Except where required by law, purchases and credits are non-refundable and have no cash value. You’re responsible for applicable taxes.

Where the Service offers revenue share or charitable donation of proceeds, additional terms (and payout/processor requirements) apply.

11. Advertising

The Service includes advertising that may run within or alongside content. Advertisers are governed by our Advertiser Terms. The presence of an ad isn’t an endorsement.

12. Intellectual property & copyright

The Service, including our software, branding, and design, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. These Terms don’t grant you rights to our trademarks.

We respond to valid copyright notices and may remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers. To report infringement, contact legal@roastreels.com with the details required by applicable law; the affected user may submit a counter-notice.

13. Third-party services

The Service integrates third parties (auth providers, AI models, payments, streaming, social platforms). Your use of those is subject to their terms, and we’re not responsible for them.

14. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for any reason, including violations of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., licenses you granted, disclaimers, limitations, indemnities) survive termination.

15. Disclaimers

The Service and all content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that roasts will meet your expectations.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Roast Reels and its affiliates won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $100 if you paid nothing.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Roast Reels from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

18. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [your jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. [Add your dispute-resolution choice — e.g., venue/courts, or an arbitration and class-action-waiver clause if desired.]

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We’ll post the updated version with a new date, and material changes may be highlighted. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

20. Miscellaneous

These Terms (with the Privacy Policy and, for advertisers, the Advertiser Terms) are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may assign these Terms; you may not without our consent. Our failure to enforce a provision isn’t a waiver.
